madshi.net (Systemsoftware Mathias Rauen, Hamburg) publishes Delphi/C++ developer components including madExcept exception handling and madCodeHook API hooking. Commercial use requires per-developer or company licences with a yearly subscription; several smaller packages are freeware.

  1. madExcept is sold as commercial licences for 1, 2 or 3 developers or as an unlimited-developer company licence; a new licence includes one year of subscription, and a non-commercial edition is free.[1]

  2. For madExcept and madCodeHook there are no runtime or shipping fees; extending the subscription for one year costs about 30% of a new licence and covers minor and major upgrades plus forum and email support.[2]

  3. madCodeHook is offered as Single Developer, Company (unlimited developers) and Company Source licences; only Company Source includes source code, and the publisher reserves the right to refuse to sell licences.[3]

  4. The licence agreement lets madBasic, madKernel, madShell and madSecurity be used freely for non-commercial and commercial purposes with credit to the author, while madExcept may be used free only for non-commercial purposes.[4]

  5. A Single Developer licence covers use on one development computer at a time; Company and Company Source licences cover all development computers for all developers in the company.[5]

  6. Licensed software must not be rented or leased but may be permanently transferred if the recipient agrees to the licence terms, and no part of its source code may be made available to third parties.[6]
