Inkscape

Inkscape is a free and open-source SVG-based vector graphics editor. The program is licensed under the GNU GPL and may be used for any purpose, including commercial work.

  1. The Inkscape FAQ states that Inkscape is released under the GNU GPL version 2 and can be used and distributed for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial; distributors of modified versions must provide the source code.[1]

  2. Most Inkscape source code is licensed GPL-2.0-or-later, but because some included files are GPL-3.0-or-later, complete Inkscape binaries are covered by the GNU GPL version 3 or later.[2]

  3. Files saved or exported from Inkscape belong to their creators, who choose their own licence for the work.[3]

  4. The Inkscape name is a US trademark held and administered by the Software Freedom Conservancy.[4]
