Inductive Automation

Inductive Automation develops Ignition, an industrial application platform for SCADA, IIoT, MES and HMI, with Edge, Cloud and free Maker editions. Standard Ignition is licensed perpetually per server with unlimited tags, users and devices, while Cloud Edition is billed on usage.

  1. Standard Ignition and Ignition Edge licences are perpetual with a one-time cost, while Ignition Cloud Edition has an ongoing fee based on usage.[1]

  2. Ignition is sold by the server, so one licence is required per server; redundant deployments generally need a licence for both the master and backup nodes.[2]

  3. Without support and upgrade protection, a major upgrade of Ignition costs 65% of the software's current retail price, and support is unavailable after the 90-day complimentary phone support period.[3]

  4. Ignition Edge allows a maximum of two concurrent client views, with unlimited devices and tags at no extra cost.[4]

  5. Ignition Maker Edition is free for personal, non-commercial use by individuals only; businesses and non-profits may not use it, and it is limited to 10,000 tags, 10 concurrent user sessions and three active licences, without redundancy.[5]
