IAR Systems
IAR Systems makes embedded software development tools, chiefly IAR Embedded Workbench with its C/C++ compiler and C-SPY debugger, and code quality and CI/CD tooling. Tools are licensed under separate perpetual and subscription licence agreements, with PC-locked, dongle, build-server and named-user licence types.
Licensing at a Glance
- Perpetual licence
- Subscription
- Node-locked
- Named user
IAR publishes two Software License Agreements: one for perpetual licences and one for subscription licences.[1]
The subscription agreement defines PC-locked, Mobile (hardware dongle), Build Server and Named User licence types; a Build Server licence is limited to a maximum number of concurrent build jobs.[2]
A PC-locked licence may be used by one user on one designated computer, and may be moved to another computer using IAR's transfer program in its licence management system.[3]
Licensees must keep records of their use of licensed products for at least the preceding 24 months and make them available for audit by IAR or a neutral third party.[4]
The free evaluation licence gives access for 14 days and is limited to non-commercial use.[5]
