HPE Aruba Networking

HPE Aruba Networking, the Hewlett Packard Enterprise networking business formerly known as Aruba Networks, makes wireless, switching and SD-Branch products and the Aruba Central cloud management platform. Central is licensed through fixed-term Foundation and Advanced subscriptions assigned per device.

  1. Aruba Central uses Foundation and Advanced subscription licences on a per-device basis, as a uniform software subscription model for the Central-managed portfolio.[1]

  2. Central licences are sold as fixed terms of 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 years, and the earlier Device Management and Service Token licensing model has not applied since November 2021.[2]

  3. Licences for access points, switches and gateways are not interchangeable; for example, an AP Foundation licence cannot be used on a gateway.[3]

  4. As-a-Service SKUs add flexible consumption options including delayed activation for up to 90 days, licence co-termination, mid-cycle tier upgrades and renewal; subscriptions are managed in the HPE GreenLake portal.[4]
