
HarfBuzz Project
HarfBuzz is an open-source text shaping library that converts Unicode text into positioned glyphs, with font subsetting and rasterization. It is licensed under the so-called Old MIT licence.

HarfBuzz is licensed under the so-called "Old MIT" license; parts under other licences carry their own COPYING files in subdirectories.[1]
The licence permits use, copying, modification and distribution for any purpose without licence or royalty fees, provided the copyright notice and the two disclaimer paragraphs appear in all copies.[2]
Copyright is held by many contributors, including Google, Red Hat, Mozilla Foundation, Adobe, Facebook, Nokia and individual developers.[3]
HarfBuzz is a text shaping library that also includes font subsetting, glyph rasterization and integration with FreeType, Cairo, CoreText and DirectWrite.[4]
