FileZilla Project

The FileZilla Project, founded by Tim Kosse, develops the open-source FileZilla FTP client and FileZilla Server. A commercial FileZilla Pro line, sold by Business Follows Srl, is licensed per individual user as one-off purchases or subscriptions.

  1. FileZilla (the client) is distributed under the GNU GPL version 3 or (at your option) any later version, and no restrictions apply to its use.[1]

  2. FileZilla Server is distributed under the GNU Affero General Public License version 3 or any later version.[2]

  3. FileZilla Pro products are trade names of Business Follows Srl of Rome and may be sold as a one-off purchase or as a subscription.[3]

  4. Unless the purchase says otherwise, a FileZilla Pro licence may be activated on up to 3 devices used by the same individual; each individual user needs their own licence, even on a shared machine.[4]

  5. FileZilla Pro Enterprise Server is sold as one flat-rate licence per server with unlimited users, from €199.99 per year.[5]
