Field Effect Software is a Canadian cybersecurity company that provides Field Effect MDR, a managed detection and response service with endpoint, cloud and network coverage. The service and its licensed software are sold by subscription in MDR Endpoint, MDR Core and MDR Complete packages, directly or through authorized partners.

Licensing at a Glance

  • Subscription

  1. Field Effect MDR is offered in three packages: MDR Endpoint, MDR Core and MDR Complete, with MDR Complete adding network detection and extended reporting.[1]

  2. MDR service-related log data is stored for 90 days in all packages, with an upgrade to 7 years available on MDR Complete.[2]

  3. Under the Terms of Service, the MDR Service includes Licensed Software, and customers must not resell, sublicense or distribute it, reverse engineer it, or use it for benchmarking or competitive analysis.[3]

  4. Trials may be granted at no cost for a limited number of users, for internal evaluation only and not for commercial use, for a limited period.[4]

  5. Customers who buy through an Authorized Partner are still governed by the Field Effect Terms of Service; unless otherwise stated, invoices are due within 30 days.[5]
