Far Group

Far Group develops Far Manager, a text-mode file and archive manager for Windows originally written by Eugene Roshal. Far Manager is distributed free with its source code under a BSD-style licence.

  1. Since version 1.80 (26 October 2007), Far Manager has been distributed with its source code under the revised BSD licence.[1]

  2. The Far Manager licence permits redistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or without modification, provided the copyright notice and disclaimer are retained and the authors' names are not used to endorse derived products.[2]

  3. The licence makes an exception for plugins: Far Manager plugins that use only the listed header files (such as plugin.hpp, farcolor.hpp and farkeys.hpp) may be distributed under any other licence.[3]

  4. Far Manager is copyright 1996-2000 Eugene Roshal and 2000 onwards Far Group; the project source is hosted on GitHub.[4]
