F5 makes application delivery and security products, including BIG-IP (hardware and virtual editions), NGINX and its distributed cloud services. Software is sold as perpetual licences, 1–3 year term subscriptions, or the multi-year Flex Consumption Program with usage reporting.

  1. F5 software can be bought as perpetual licences, as subscriptions for a specified number of instances on 1-, 2- or 3-year terms, or through the Flex Consumption Program with a 3- or 5-year annual spending commitment.[1]

  2. A free 30-day trial is offered to evaluate F5 products.[2]

  3. F5 offers two subscription models, the Flex Consumption Program (FCP) and Term Subscriptions; FCP subscriptions run for three years and are reconciled against the commitment each year (true-up/true-forward).[3]

  4. Subscribers must submit a Usage Report for each deployed software product within 10 days after the end of each calendar month, using the applicable License Management Tool.[4]

  5. On expiry or termination without renewal, customers must pay for usage to date and delete all software instances, licence keys and documentation, certifying destruction on request.[5]
