ETAS

ETAS makes automotive software development, calibration, measurement and test tools such as INCA, along with related hardware. Its PC tools are licensed as machine-based, user-named or floating licences, administered with the ETAS License Manager and a FlexNet-based ETAS License Server.

Licensing at a Glance

  • Node-locked
  • Named user
  • Floating / network
  • Concurrent user
  1. Machine-based licences are stored locally and are valid only on a specific PC, linked to hardware-specific IDs such as the Ethernet adapter's MAC address.[1]

  2. User-named licences are server-based and linked to the server's MAC address and to the user name registered in the network; floating licences are server-based and let several users share a limited number of licences.[2]

  3. The ETAS License Manager shows the licences required by ETAS programs installed on a PC and their state, and lets users add, delete, borrow and return licences.[3]

  4. The ETAS License Server V11.19.10 supports the Flexera FlexNet API V11.19.10 on Windows and Linux and is relevant to customers using concurrent or user-based licences; machine-based licences are not affected.[4]
