Esko

Esko, based in Ghent, Belgium, develops software for packaging design, artwork management and print processes. Its software is licensed perpetually or by subscription, per client seat, concurrent user or named user.

  1. The Esko EULA grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for internal business purposes only; depending on the order, the licence is perpetual or a recurring subscription, and it is perpetual unless the order document says otherwise.[1]

  2. Use is limited to the number of licences bought: Client Seat licences cover a set number of seats (PCs, terminals, virtual PCs, servers), Concurrent User licences cap simultaneous users, and Named User licences are limited to the Authorized Users assigned at the time.[2]

  3. For software installed on a wide area network serving several locations, the customer must make sure that the number of licensed Client Seats is not exceeded, even where the licence management routines do not prevent it.[3]

  4. The EULA forbids selling, sublicensing, renting or transferring the software to a different company or location, and forbids using it on behalf of third parties or to run an outsourcing business without written permission.[4]

  5. Subscription licences run for the initial term in the order and, if the order says so, renew automatically for one-year periods once all fees are paid; trial licences are limited to one Client Seat for 30 days of internal evaluation.[5]
