Emurasoft

Emurasoft makes EmEditor, a text, code and CSV editor for Windows, sold as EmEditor Professional by monthly or annual subscription and also available as EmEditor Free for personal use. Organisations must license each computer on which EmEditor is installed or can be accessed.

Licensing at a Glance

  • Subscription
  • Per device
  • Free tier

  1. EmEditor Professional is sold as a monthly or an annual subscription, and annual subscriptions renew at 25% off the current first-year price while the subscription remains active.[1]

  2. For organisational use, a licence is required for each computer on which EmEditor is installed or can be accessed, including remote terminals; with terminal servers, one licence is needed per server and per client regardless of concurrent users.[2]

  3. A second copy may be installed for personal use on a portable or home computer if not used simultaneously, or on a virtual PC on the same host; a portable drive counts as one computer.[3]

  4. For home or school personal use, not on corporate or government computers, EmEditor may be installed on up to 5 computers.[4]

  5. EmEditor Free is a free edition for personal use at home or school only, may not be used in corporate, government or other organisational environments, and lacks features such as plug-ins, scripting and CSV tools.[5]
