Dundas Data Visualization

Dundas Data Visualization, now part of insightsoftware, makes Dundas BI, a business intelligence, reporting and embedded analytics platform for on-premises, cloud and SaaS deployment. It is licensed by CPU core capacity or by reserved (named) and floating (concurrent) user seats, with annual billing for its published capacity pricing.

Licensing at a Glance

  • Per core
  • Named user
  • Concurrent user
  • Subscription
  • OEM / bundled

  1. Dundas BI pricing lists an 8 Core Capacity - Embedded option with unlimited viewers at an MSRP of $7,290.32 USD per month, billed annually; per-user pricing is also available on request.[1]

  2. A licence may set a number of allowed CPU cores counted per server or per instance; physical cores are counted on physical machines and logical cores on virtual machines, and extra cores beyond the licence are not used.[2]

  3. Seats are either Reserved (named) seats, including Standard User, Power User and Developer types, or Floating (concurrent) seats that cap how many users can be logged on at the same time; API-only accounts do not consume a seat.[3]

  4. Retail licences typically include elastic hours that let floating users temporarily exceed licence limits, for example up to 5 hours per calendar quarter for all standard users combined, with unused hours not carried over.[4]

  5. Licence kinds include a 25-day Evaluation licence with a watermark, Retail for production, Development for test or staging, OEM Retail and OEM Developer for ISVs, and Training; all servers sharing one application database count as one licensed instance.[5]

  6. The Dundas website states that Dundas has joined the insightsoftware family and carries an insightsoftware, LLC copyright notice.[6]
