Cppcheck

Cppcheck is a static analysis tool for C and C++ code, developed as an open-source project under the GNU GPL v3. A commercial edition, Cppcheck Premium, adds extended checks, compliance reports and support under Business, Enterprise and Safety Certified licences.

  1. Cppcheck is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3.[1]

  2. Cppcheck is available both as open source and as Cppcheck Premium, a commercial version with extended functionality and support.[2]

  3. The Cppcheck Premium Business licence is locked to a computer, is intended for individual developer machines and does not support CI environments, VMs or containers.[3]

  4. The Cppcheck Premium Enterprise licence is limited to a maximum number of lines of code and works in CI environments, VMs and containers as well as on individual computers.[4]

  5. A Safety Certified licence is offered for safety-critical applications that need a pre-qualified tool and includes the current certificate and functional safety manual; all Premium licences are quoted by sales.[5]
