Cato Networks
Cato Networks provides the Cato SASE Cloud Platform, a cloud service combining SD-WAN and security service edge (SSE) functions, with the Cato Client for remote users. Licences cover site bandwidth and remote users, either as fixed allocations (Enforcement Model) or measured by usage (Bursting Model).
Licensing at a Glance
- Subscription
- Capacity (data, assets, nodes)
- Named user
- Consumption / usage based
Cato accounts use one of two licence models, Enforcement or Bursting: until January 2027 all accounts use the Enforcement Model, and from January 2027 new accounts and renewals use the Bursting Model; existing accounts keep their assigned model.[1]
Under the Enforcement Model the customer defines total licensed bandwidth for each site and assigns a ZTNA licence to each remote user; under the Bursting Model site bandwidth and remote user licences are measured by usage.[2]
Enforcement Model bandwidth is licensed either as a pooled bandwidth licence, which can be divided among sites in the same region, or as a site licence with fixed bandwidth that can be moved from one site to another.[3]
Bandwidth licences cover a site's total upstream and downstream WAN traffic over the Cato Cloud; unlicensed sites do not pass any traffic.[4]
