Under the Terms of Use, Brave Software grants a personal, non-exclusive licence to install and use the executable code version of the Brave browser, and the licence terminates immediately if the agreement is breached.[1]
The Terms of Use state that source code for parts of the Brave browser may be available under open source licences via GitHub, and that the agreement does not limit rights granted under those licences.[2]
The brave-core repository, which holds the core browser code, is licensed under the Mozilla Public License Version 2.0.[3]
Brave Premium products, including Brave Leo, Brave Firewall + VPN, Brave Talk Premium and Brave Search Premium, are paid subscription services; subscriptions bought through Apple's App Store or Google Play are billed by the platform provider.[4]
The Brave Search API is priced per request (for example $5 per 1,000 requests for the Search plan) and includes $5 in free credits every month; a credit card is required even for free use as an anti-fraud measure.[5]
