Backstaff Software publishes InstallBuilder, a cross-platform installer creation tool originally developed by BitRock. InstallBuilder is sold in Enterprise, Professional and Single Platform editions with a year of updates and support, and free licences are offered to open source projects.

  2. Every InstallBuilder licence includes access to all new releases and email support for one year; after that, support and updates can be renewed for 50% of the licence price.[2]

  3. Site licences are available for up to five developers for every InstallBuilder edition.[3]

  4. Free full-featured licences are offered to projects that meet the Open Source Initiative definition; the licence may only build installers for that project and cannot be transferred or used commercially.[4]

  5. Companies with fewer than five employees can contact sales about small business discounts.[5]
