Arcserve

Arcserve makes backup, disaster recovery and replication software, including Arcserve UDP and the former StorageCraft products ShadowProtect and ImageManager. It licenses software perpetually or by subscription under a single EULA covering Arcserve, LLC and StorageCraft, LLC.

Licensing at a Glance

  • Perpetual licence
  • Subscription
  • Per device

  1. The Arcserve EULA is a contract between the user and Arcserve, LLC or StorageCraft, LLC, an Arcserve company.[1]

  2. Software licensed on a perpetual basis may not be used to provide managed or professional services to third parties; MSPs may license the software on a subscription basis for that purpose.[2]

  3. A copy may be moved from one computer to another only if the number of computers with the software installed does not exceed the number licensed and Arcserve is notified in writing of each transfer.[3]

  4. Products may be used only within the country where they were purchased unless the Order Form or Arcserve's written consent says otherwise, and the software may stop working when its term lapses.[4]

  5. Arcserve UDP is offered in Standard, Advanced and Premium editions, with savings for 3- and 5-year subscriptions.[5]

  6. ShadowProtect host-based (Hyper-V) backup is priced the same as agent-based backup, and host-based licence keys are generated in the Arcserve MSP portal.[6]
