ALSA Project

The ALSA Project develops the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture: the Linux kernel sound drivers, the alsa-lib user-space library and the alsa-utils tools. ALSA is free software released under the GNU GPL and LGPL.

  3. alsa-lib source files state that the library may be redistributed or modified under the LGPL version 2.1 or (at the user's option) any later version.[3]

  4. The alsa-utils tools are distributed with the GNU General Public License version 2, and source files such as aplay state GPL version 2 or any later version.[4]
