AET Europe

AET Europe (A.E.T. Europe B.V.) is a Dutch digital-identity vendor best known for SafeSign Identity Client, smart-card and USB-token middleware, alongside its ConsentID platform and BlueX eID management. Its software is licensed under its General Terms & Conditions, per authorised user unless agreed otherwise.

  1. SafeSign Identity Client is middleware for strong authentication with smart cards and USB tokens from various manufacturers, available for desktops, servers, laptops, thin clients and other devices.[1]

  2. SafeSign software downloads require a registration form, including the user's card vendor or certification authority, and acceptance of AET Europe's terms and conditions.[2]

  3. AET Europe grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the software for internal purposes only, for the agreed products and operating system; transfer or assignment requires AET Europe's written consent.[3]

  4. Unless agreed otherwise in writing, a separate licence is required for each individual authorised user, and each licence permits only one authorised user.[4]

  5. AET Europe may audit the customer's premises on reasonable advance notice; if non-compliance is found, the customer reimburses the reasonable audit costs.[5]

  6. Unless otherwise agreed, agreements have an initial 12-month term and renew automatically for 12-month terms unless terminated in writing three months before the end of the term.[6]
