1C Company develops the 1C:Enterprise business application platform and ERP, accounting and trade management applications built on it. Licences are sold through 1C and its partner network and are activated and registered to the customer's account, with a free Community licence for development.

Individuals and companies purchase licences for the 1C:Enterprise platform and other 1C products by contacting 1C; after purchase the licence is activated and registered to the buyer's personal account.[1]
The 1C:Enterprise Community licence is intended solely for developing and debugging 1C:Enterprise applications and cannot be used for real-life management and accounting tasks.[2]
The Community licence allows concurrent access to a single infobase for up to three direct connection sessions, one web server session, one 1C:Analytics client session and one mobile client session, plus one server developer session; licences are distributed by the 1C:Enterprise server.[3]
Obtaining a Community licence requires registering on 1C:DN and passing phone-number verification.[4]
1C serves customers through a partner network in 25 countries, including more than 7,000 certified 1C:Franchisee partners.[5]
