- Data Protection ALA (5200-1998): an On-line Backup licence is required per server regardless of the number of databases; each partition (LPAR, nPar, vPar) and each cluster node needs one; each Oracle RAC node with an Application Agent needs one. VMware VADP backup needs one per ESX(i) server actively used for backup or recovery, Hyper-V one per host actively backed up, and on-line backup of an application inside a VM needs one per VM. From DP 2019.12 (10.60) only systems actively involved in backup or recovery are counted.
