- Commercial rules
- If the yearly perpetual key is not renewed the customer can still run Metasploit but only the last version released before the key expired, without updates. Current Metasploit licences are subscriptions that stop working at expiry, although project data stays in the local database. Under the legacy EULA the Maintenance and Support Term of perpetual software renewed yearly unless notice was given 30 days before the anniversary.
