- Paywall Expansion: from January 31, 2021 all Cloudera software, including legacy CDH, HDP, HDF/CDF and CDSW versions, requires a valid subscription to access it.
- Commercial rules
- Access needs a valid licence key and customer-specific repository credentials, both issued with a subscription. New releases have been paywalled since November 2019. The March 2025 pricing update restates that a subscription is required for all version releases, maintenance and security releases.
