- Canvas Lite Terms s.1: the Service is available only to individual educators employed by or teaching for an accredited educational institution, individual educators in homeschool or other small-group non-commercial settings, and School Personnel (together "Eligible Users"). Accounts the educator creates for students or others are "Linked Accounts".

- One account per Eligible User; the account holder is responsible for all Linked Accounts. Each teacher completes an identity check at sign-up.
- Floors / minimums
- Free of charge. Limits: 500MB of data storage; five active, published courses; at most fifty students per course (Terms s.4.3).
