Definition
NetBackup Product Specific Terms s.1.2: NEVC is "a license to use the Software listed in the table set forth below measured by the number of CPUs in the virtual environment to be protected, equal to the quantity of licenses purchased."
Counting rules
Counted by nbdeployutil as CPU sockets: a standalone host counts its own sockets; a host in a cluster counts the sockets of all hosts in the cluster; a VM migrated between hosts counts both hosts when both backed it up within the last 90 days. Only VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Acropolis Hypervisor and AzureStack environments; Unix cannot be licensed with NEVC. "CPU" is defined as "a processor or occupied CPU socket".
Floors / minimums
No minimum stated. NEVC cannot be combined with Traditional licences in the same NetBackup Domain; NetBackup Self Service needs a separate licence.
