Aliases
Throughput licence; bandwidth license
Definition
A licence that fixes the maximum throughput an ACOS instance (vThunder, bare metal or hardware platform) may process. Data sheets list bandwidth licence tiers such as Lab, 25 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps, available as perpetual or term-based licences.
Counting rules
Bandwidth is set per instance or appliance by the licence installed on it. On bare metal, bandwidth licences are tied to the maximum number of cores that can be allocated to ACOS (for example 10 Gbps with 4 cores and 60 Gbps with 24 cores for ADC).
Floors / minimums
Lowest cloud pre-installed tier 20 Mbps (ADC); CFW-ADC vThunder tier 25 Mbps; "Lab" tier for testing.
