- CPDS 39.2 (effective 2026-09-11), Definitions: each execution core on a chip, or a Virtual CPU-core as represented in Virtualization software, is counted as a CPU-core (a single quad-core chip = four CPU-cores). CPU-cores may be allocated across shared servers in an Environment provided the number licensed or subscribed equals the total CPU-cores of the shared servers, unless use is restricted to a verifiable Partition. Multiple Environments are allowed while total CPU-cores do not exceed the licensed quantity. Products may not be installed on Vision Processing Unit or Graphics Processing Unit technologies.
