- User/device: the License Server dynamically assigns a license to a user or a device based on usage and monitors consumption; default assignment is a user license; the server optimizes so the smallest number of licenses are used based on userID and deviceID. A user license allows access from an unlimited number of devices (unique user ID required). A device license is assigned when two or more users connect to an exclusively shared endpoint. Assignment lasts 90 days from connection, renewed during the connection, and expires 90 days after last disconnect. Concurrent: not tied to a specific userID, Active Directory account, or domain; based on the originating endpoint deviceID. A license is checked out for an active session and checked in on logoff or disconnect; Citrix does not license per session. Multiple sessions from different computers use multiple licenses.
