- Product Terms: "When purchasing multiple core Business Applications, the first or Base license must be the highest priced license for the user. Every full user must have a Base license." Licensing Guide: the first application license for a named user is "a.k.a. base license".
- Counting rules
- One Base license per full-access named user. When a user needs several Dynamics 365 applications, the highest priced one is the Base license and the others may be bought as Attach licenses. The first Base license in the tenant brings the default tenant capacity; further licenses do not add to that default, although enterprise Base user licenses accrue additional Dataverse database and file capacity.

- Purchasing minimums apply to some Base licenses (for example 20 for Finance, Supply Chain Management, Commerce and Project Operations; 10 for Finance Premium, Supply Chain Management Premium and Microsoft Relationship Sales; 5 for Human Resources).
