- Product Appendices (June 2026) Appendix A §9: Subscriptions for Power servers may be purchased for a subset of Sockets (Sub-Capacity) on POWER8 or later servers with four or more physical Sockets where PowerVM (dedicated LPAR, DLPAR, shared processor pools) limits the capacity available. Socket Pair Equivalent = whole Cores available to the Subscription divided by Cores per physical Socket Pair on that server; fractional Cores and fractional Socket Pairs round up. Increasing capacity requires more Subscriptions. IFL on Power does not automatically limit Subscriptions. "1 Virtual Machine" Subscriptions are not eligible.
