- PTC news release (19 April 2017): effective 1 January 2018, new software licenses for PTC core solutions and the ThingWorx platform are available only by subscription in the Americas and Western Europe; existing perpetual licenses may continue to be used and support renewed on active licenses; outside those regions PTC planned to keep offering both. Kepware remains available perpetual and subscription. Licensing Basis for Creo (Eng. rev. March 2023): PTC does not have perpetual license models for most products.
