- Microsoft Licensing on Google Cloud (2026-09-24), a Google summary of Microsoft terms: License Mobility requires active Software Assurance and CALs with Software Assurance, and after deploying a license within a region you cannot move it to another region for 90 days. Windows Server is typically not eligible for License Mobility. Outsourcing Software Management Rights apply to products released before October 1, 2019 (or licenses acquired under enrollments effective before that date) and only on dedicated servers such as sole-tenant nodes; Microsoft does not allow them in a multi-tenant environment. Microsoft's own Product Terms remain the governing document.
