- Bringing your own licenses (2026-09-24): existing physical-core or physical-processor licenses with dedicated hardware requirements require bringing your own media and running it on compliant hardware such as sole-tenant nodes. There is no additional charge for bringing images with existing licenses, but licenses are paid per your agreements. Images based on premium images are not eligible for BYOL. Licenses cannot be activated against the Compute Engine license server. Linux BYOS with RHEL or SLES and Microsoft applications under License Mobility do not require sole-tenant nodes.
