- Definition
- Named User means any individual authorized by Customer to Use a Package, including without limitation employees of its Affiliates or its Business Partners. Named User License means the Metric and Licensed Level applicable to each Named User. (SAP Software Use Rights enGLOBAL.v.4-2026 §§1.4–1.5.)
- Counting rules
- Except as otherwise specifically provided in Sections 3.2, 5.3 and 7, Use of any Package requires both a Named User License and a Package License. Named User Licenses cannot be assigned to more than 1 individual. Transfer from 1 individual to another only if the assigned individual (a) is on vacation; (b) is absent due to sickness; (c) has their employment terminated; (d) is moved into a new job function which no longer requires them to Use any Packages; or (e) is subject to a condition otherwise agreed by SAP. Use may occur by way of an interface delivered with or as a part of the Software, a Customer or third-party interface, or another intermediary system. The Metric is the Exhibit 2 Named User category and type (inclusive rights). Customers with June 2014 and earlier types (mySAP.com Users, SAP Business Suite Users, SAP ERP Users, Individual SAP solutions Users, SAP Application Users, SAP BA&T Users) may license additional quantities of the same types and are not permitted to license SAP Named Users within their existing license contract. - Floors / minimums
- Exhibit 2 does not state a numeric floor on Named Users. SAP Business One (Exhibit 6): minimum 1 SAP Business One Starterpackage User or 1 SAP Business One Profesional User (SUR spelling). Starter Package Users: maximum 5 for the sum; above that, all must be licensed as SAP Business One Professional or Limited Professional User.
