- A physical system which contains or executes all or a portion of the Software including, without limitation, a server, workstation, laptop, blade or other physical system, as applicable. (Product Appendix 1 Table 1.1, February 2026 Version.)
- Counting rules
- Count each physical system that contains or executes all or a portion of the Software. RHEL Server: Socket-pair for each Physical Node or 2 Virtual Nodes. Fees: purchase Subscriptions in a quantity equal to the total number and capacity of Units from commencement of use or deployment. OpenShift Cluster: purchase for each Unit in a Cluster if any OpenShift Units run in that Cluster.
- Floors / minimums
- RHEL: Socket-pair for each Physical Node (one-socket box still a Socket-pair). OpenShift guide bare-metal context: a physical node is 1 server regardless of CPU sockets or cores — that wording is for Bare-metal node subscriptions, not a Socket-pair conversion.
