- Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud Platform may be bought on Daily Indexing Volume. Metrics indexing is converted into GB of daily ingestion using a fixed ratio described in the software documentation. Daily usage is measured midnight to midnight on the license manager clock; exceeding the licensed volume on a calendar day generates a license warning (see the Splunk violation rules). Volume licenses cannot be stacked with vCPU infrastructure licenses.
