- "“CPU” means a central processing unit which is the specialized integrated circuit that executes binary programs and performs most logical functions or calculations. A dual-core central processing unit is considered a single CPU." (CA 1 Tape Management SPD, V3.0.)
- Counting rules
- Non-virtual: count CPUs; for servers with CPUs above the SPD threshold, count all cores, divide by eight and round up. Virtual: same core count, multiplied by the maximum percentage of server CPU capacity allocated to any OS instance running monitored applications, then by 1.5 and rounded up. Mixed environments: add both.
