- PT-WS: “Server Licenses (per core) – Licensing by Individual Virtual OSE. Available for subscription licenses or licenses with active Software Assurance only.” “The number of Licenses required equals the number of Virtual Cores in the Virtual OSE, subject to a minimum of 8 Licenses per Virtual OSE.” CALs used under this model must also be subscription licenses or have active SA. Subscription licenses qualify without a separate SA purchase; licenses with active SA also qualify. Educational only (does not supersede PT): core-based licensing guidance also states a 16 core licenses per customer minimum when allocating by virtual machine — not printed as a PT floor.
