- Elastic License 2.0, Limitations (page undated, as of 2026-09-26): “You may not provide the software to third parties as a hosted or managed service, where the service provides users with access to any substantial set of the features or functionality of the software.” ELv2 FAQ: a SaaS product with a search box and view-only Kibana dashboards is permitted; an MSP whose customers have access to substantial portions of Elasticsearch or Kibana functionality “may not be permitted”; offering direct access to substantial portions of the Elasticsearch APIs and Kibana UI “is not permitted under the ELv2”.
