- Per socket licenses are consumed based on the number of CPU sockets; cores are not counted. Example: a computer with two CPU sockets that has only one CPU consumes one license; a computer with two sockets and two CPUs (each quad core) uses two licenses. Citrix Hypervisor uses per socket licenses. Product specific terms: under the CPU Socket model, a CPU Socket is an individual CPU socket on a server running the PRODUCT, regardless of whether the socket contains a CPU; licenses must be purchased for all CPU sockets on such server(s).
