- VMware Live Site Recovery Licensing (9.0.5): licensing "is based on the number of protected VMs. The same license is installed on both the protected and the recovery site." One-way protection of 100 VMs needs a 100-VM license; protecting 100 VMs in each direction needs a 200-VM license. Adding VMs to a protection group without compliant licenses triggers an alarm and blocks further protection.
