- vSphere Standard SPD (February 2026): customers with perpetual licenses to legacy software that used the name vSphere Standard and active SnS may upgrade to version 8.x until the earlier of the SnS end date or end of support of 8.x; "Customers do not have an entitlement to upgrade Legacy Perpetual Software to any version of Software above 8.x." The vSAN SPD (May 2026) carries the same 8.x limit for legacy vSAN; the VCF SPD (June 2026) limits legacy perpetual VCF to 5.x.
