- "The licensing model of some IBM products, for example DB2, defines that product instances that run in the warm standby mode consume a fixed number of PVUs or VPCs. To report metric utilization by such product instances, assign them with the PVU Warm Standby or VPC Warm Standby metric." (IBM License Metric Tool 9.2)
- Counting rules
- Fixed 1 VPC per endpoint where a warm-standby instance is installed; not configurable. From ILMT 9.2.34, multiple instances of one product on a single computer count once. Reported separately from VPC utilization and added to it. Where a product is assigned to a Cloud Pak or FlexPoint offering, ILMT sums the values automatically. May also be assigned where a license states 1 VPC per instance in another scenario, for example hot standby.
