- "The licensing model of some IBM products, for example DB2, defines that product instances that run in the warm standby mode consume a fixed number of PVUs or VPCs. To report metric utilization by such product instances, assign them with the PVU Warm Standby or VPC Warm Standby metric." (IBM License Metric Tool 9.2)
- Counting rules
- Fixed 100 PVUs per endpoint where a warm-standby instance is installed; the value is not configurable. From ILMT application update 9.2.34, multiple instances of one product on a single computer count once. Reported separately from PVU sub-capacity utilization; add both values for the product total (IBM example: 1,200 PVU sub-capacity + 300 PVU warm standby = 1,500). Under PVU full capacity, do not use this metric: assign all instances to PVU. Applies only where the product's license agreement states the 100 PVU per endpoint rule.
