- "Symantec Endpoint Security subscriptions are metered per managed device. A device means a single physical or virtual desktop, laptop computer, thin client, workstation, mobile device, server, or other virtual operating system environment, on which a single instance of the agent is installed or performs services." - Counting rules
- With both SESE and SESC subscriptions, devices with an applied SESC-only policy (Application Control, Adaptive Protection, Detection and Response, Threat Defense for Active Directory, Trusted Updater) count as SESC seats; devices that do not support an applied SESC policy are not counted as SESC seats. Seat usage is calculated every 24 hours (Licensing FAQs).
