- AEM On-premise Software product description: "Instance means one copy of the On-premise Software instantiated and running within a java virtual machine process on one physical Computer or virtual environment. Each Instance can be designated as either an Author Instance or Publish Instance, but each will be counted separately as one Instance."
- Counting rules
- An AEM Sites Base Package is 1 Author Instance, 1 Publish Instance and unlimited Dispatcher Instances, and one Base Package is required per AEM Deployment. Additional Instances are licensed per Instance. AEM Assets Instances must equal the Author and Publish Instances where the Asset Share Feature is used, or the Author Instances where it is not. Users are licensed separately (Per User).
